Making Progress to Training and Employment

The aim of Making Progress (formerly PET) is to work with offenders under supervision by the National Probation Service in Coventry. We assist people to help them find routes into new employment opportunities. We are able to promote vacancies made available through initiatives such as Enterprising Coventry, the Recruitment Network and the Local Employment Partnership (LEP). We support clients by ensuring the early identification and co-ordination of appropriate services, and by delivering activities which serve the individual needs of each client.

Making Progress is supported by the National Probation Service, via their Employment, Training and Education (ETE) team, Enterprising Coventry and Supporting People. The team is located in Probation Service premises in Bishop Street, at City Council offices in West Orchard House, Corporation Street, at the Midland Heart Housing Association outreach facility at 396 Foleshill Road and at the Whitefriars Chace Centre in Willenhall.

Clients are directly referred via the Probation Service to Making Progress. The team ensures clients get access to a range of support to tackle practical and personal issues, including housing and financial issues, substance misuse, motivation and confidence. Making Progress also refer clients for other support required, covering mental health, money management, anger management, coping skills, dealing with emotions, challenging perceptions, personal development programme, work preparation, work retention and counselling.

Making Progress Job Club

Job Search for Making Progress clients runs from 10.00am - 1.00pm every Thursday at Coventry Foyer, Holyhead Court, Lower Holyhead Road, Coventry, CV1 3AX.
